Synopsis:

Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon. Meanwhile, at 4:00 AM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 1,020 km East of Northern Mindanao (9.0ºN, 136.5ºE).

Forecast:

Metro Manila, Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon and the province of Palawan will experience occasional rains. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over the western section of Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest over the rest of the country with slight to moderate seas.

LANDSLIDE AND FLOOD THREAT ADVISORY
For REGION 10 (NORTHERN MINDANAO)

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 1,020 km East of Northern Mindanao (9.0ºN, 136.5ºE).

The Provincial, City, and Municipal Governments are hereby advised to take precautionary measures in view of the Tropical Depression.  This weather disturbance could have possible adverse impact on the local population, on health, on public and private infrastructure, on the economy.

The Provincial/City/Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and the general public are advised to be prepared in the event of the occurrence of landslides and floods.  The P/C/MDRRMCs are advised to be vigilant and to take precautionary measures.

The Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees (BDRRMCs) are advised to coordinate with their City/Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils to plan for any emergency, including identification of safe and suitable relocation sites and/or evacuation centers.  These should not be located in landslide-/flood-/hazard-prone areas.
