TROPICAL DEPRESSION “AURING” HAS SLIGHTLY CHANGED ITS SPEED AND DIRECTION AND IS NOW MOVING TOWARDS SURIGAO DEL NORTE.

  • Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.
  • Residents of areas with TCWS #1 and over the rest of Eastern and Central Visayas are alerted against possible flash floods and landslides.
  • Expected to make landfall over Surigao del Sur between today (evening) until tomorrow (early morning).
  • Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the eastern seaboard of Visayas and of Mindanao.
  • Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals elsewhere are now lifted.

Location of eye/center:

  • At 1:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Depression “AURING” was estimated based on all available data at 90 km North Northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (09.1 °N, 126.6 °E)

Strength:

  • Maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph

Forecast Movement:

  • Forecast to move Northwest at 9 kph

  • 24 Hour( Tomorrow morning): 80 km West of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte
  • 48 Hour(Tuesday morning):120 km Vicinity of Cuyo, Palawan
  • 72 Hour(Wednesday morning): 210 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
  • 96 Hour(Thursday morning):135 km West of Pagasa Island, Palawan (OUTSIDE PAR)
  • 120 Hour(Friday morning):430 km West of Pagasa Island, Palawan (OUTSIDE PAR)

TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING SIGNAL: #1 (30-60kph expected in 36 hrs)

Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte including Siargao Island, Dinagat Province, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Camiguin, Northern Zamboanga del Norte, Lanao del Norte, Northern and Lanao del Sur

Wave Height: (Open Sea) 1.25-4.0 meters
