SYNOPSIS: At 4:00 AM today, the low pressure area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 225 km Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur(7.2N, 128.0E). Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern Luzon.

FORECAST: Cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over the regions of CARAGA, Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms is expected over the rest of Mindanao. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will be experienced over the regions of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Ilocos. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to east will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast to north with slight to moderate seas.

The Provincial, City, and Municipal Governments are hereby advised to take precautionary measures in view of the Low Pressure Area (LPA).  This weather disturbance could have possible adverse impact on the local population, on health, on public and private infrastructure, on the economy.

The Provincial/City/Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and the general public are advised to be prepared in the event of the occurrence of landslides and floods.  The P/C/MDRRMCs are advised to be vigilant and to take precautionary measures.

The Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees (BDRRMCs) are advised to coordinate with their City/Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils to plan for any emergency, including identification of safe and suitable relocation sites and/or evacuation centers.  These should not be located in landslide-/flood-/hazard-prone areas.
