With the recently launched campaign hashtag #MineResponsibility,   advocating responsible Mining, both large scale mining contractors and small-scale mining permit holders   pledged their massive support for the promotion of Responsible Mining operation in the country.

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau, the regulatory agency for this controversial extractive industries has launched hashtag #MineResponsibility advocacy on Responsible Mining last November 12, 2019 at the Eton Centris Event Center in Quezon City.

MGB revealed that it has spent as much as P9Million in its massive campaign to promote responsible mining in 2019.

On top of the launching expenditures, the 9 million amount include creation and conceptualization of new concept of Information, Education and Communication  (IEC) print materials like the 2020 MGB Calendar depicting various aspects of Mine  Responsibility, production of TV commercial, online advertisement social media account management and content and production of video documentaries.

Moreover, MGB said that Mining companies are willing to allot a portion of their IEC and development of mining technology and geosciences (DMTG) component from their Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) for this undertaking.

MGB data showed that in September 2018, mining companies have committed to spend P39.74 billion on their total plans and programs related to sustainable development and environmental protection and mined-out areas rehabilitation.
